Brisbane to Cairns.
We fly out to Cairns and true to form, the flight's delayed. I don't think I've ever hit so many delayed flights. We land in Cairns and it's +32C, overcast with spotty showers and 98% humidity. WOW!! Clouds hang overhead and it's HOT!!!
We grab our rental car and I think I see Trish's hair get curlier!!
We find our hotel and get settled in and then head downtown.
I gotta tell you, Cairns is a great little city. Everyone is friendly and it's incredibly touristy. We walk the Esplanade (which is the beach front street) to find some place to have supper. They've all got early bird specials (are we that old already?) and we have it down to Barnacle Bills or the Raw Prawn. Raw Prawn wins on name and decore so we head in. This turns out to be the freshest and best seafood supper I've ever had. It's amazing. You can tell that the staff doesn't work for tips as we are helped by no less that 4 servers. The experience last for 2 hours and is worth every penny (i think around $180 for the two of us). Have
Clouds again
It's insane how they hang a look at the dishes. There's barramundi, mud crab, huge prawns and scallops
We cruise the Esplanade and the Night Markets which come alive at 4:30 in the afternoon and go to 11pm. What a great little city this is! We head back to the hotel and plan the next 2 days.

Memories
I remember how the humidity was there......kinda a kick in the face. It was so hard to sleep there at night cause we had no air conditioning, just big ceiling fans in our rooms. Love the blogs....checking all the time!! Take care.....looks like you are having alot of fun! Della
