We sadly left Ayers Rock resort today and headed the 300km to Kings Canyon, when we arrive we set up camp with the Lemos and had a great view of the edge of the Canyon, we also found out that the DINGO population was very strong and they love to venture into the caravan park and steal stuff, shoes, food and even laptop computers so we made sure nothing was left outside. Tonight we went to the Outback BBQ bar for some great food and fun entertainment.
We spent the first day doing some short walks around the Canyon. We decided to rest our legs and do the 7km Rim walk along the top of Kings Canyon tomorrow. Kathleen Springs was a pretty 2km walk into a small gorge that they use to use to round up cattle.
The next day we got on the hiking boots and tackled the Rim walk , it was well worth the climb up all the steps at the beginning, everybody did an awesome job, it was not an easy hike with lots of steps in and out and between gaps in the Canyon. We detoured of the main track into a beautiful gorge called “the Garden of Eden” where we sat for lunch next to a waterhole
