Well we didn't quite make it the whole way around Oz (this time) but hopefully we will be able to head off on many more camping trips some time in the future.
Xmas and New Year was very quiet for us in Katherine but we made sure we savoured every last bit of our 1yr off work!
Darwin almost had a cyclone which led to Katherine flooding in parts which meant everything touristy was closed!
This was fine anyway as the car had a little breakdown and was off the road over new year till we could get it towed to a mechanic (once they opened up shop again). Only a minor problem with the wheels which was fixed in a day.
Thankfully we stopped off at Edith Falls on the way to our 3 week house sit in Katherine. It was once again a beautifull spot as they all are here in the Northern Territory, with waterfalls and crystal clear swimming holes.
The house we were staying at was a lovely big house on 89 acres. The five horses pretty much kept to themselves unless of course we brought them a mango for a treat! The 18
Springvale Homestead
This is the oldest homestead still standing in the Northern Territory. chickens I think were a bit hot and were all off the lay except for one little grey silkie bantam who layed one tiny little egg every day.
The highlight of course was the cruise along Katherine Gorge. We will be making our way back there one day to go canoeing and camping.
Well it's back to reality for us, Peter is straight into his new job and I'm straight into looking for one.

HI Guys. Thanks for sharing your trip which I followed with great interest and envy. Some places I have also been to but many others not. If I am up your way I will get in touch if thats ok. Enjoy your time in Darwin!!
