See what I mean about it being a beautiful city? There is parkland from here all the way around the bay to the city.
WOW. How great is Darwin!

The city is surrounded by beautiful blue water and parks along the water's edge for miles and miles. Because the view isnt blocked by houses or buildings, the whole place is stunning. The tree-lined streets are wide and there are open areas and parkland everywhere. What a lovely relaxed city it is.

Sandy and Andrea flew up for a short break (it was so good to see them) and Andrea's parents gave us all a very warm welcome which made our stay even more enjoyable.

One of the highlights of our stay was the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. The exotic aromas of foreign delicacies and the local cuisine of buffalo, crocodile and kangaroo, trendy arts and crafts, live entertainment in a beautiful beach setting, all on a balmy evening in the tropics, says it all.

As sunset approached, hundreds of people spilled out on to the beach to watch the sun sink over the Indian Ocean. I'm sure it was rigged that there were a couple of sailing boats silhouetted against the orange glow. They probably sail past every Thursday night to give the crowd a thrill, but we didnt care, it

Is there anywhere in Darwin that isn't beautiful?
still looked picture perfect to us.

We soaked up the atmosphere while sipping wine by candle light and nibbling on all sorts of tasty morsels, but still the best part was the great company. The evening ended too soon.

I can hear you now, thinking "She's on the champagne AGAIN" but honestly, could you say 'no' when someone has gone to so much trouble in popping that cork? No, good manners have won out every time for me too.

Shhh... I don't think the locals want the rest of Australia to know what a lovely lifestyle they have in Darwin for fear half the population would want to move north.

Great tan
He's tanned that much even with wearing his hat and sunscreen. It's been very hot and sunny - no rain like you've had at home.
