Camel rides!
Our short camel ride at one of the road stops, good job it was short ride because Catherine got the hump! Hi All,
We flew to Alice Springs last week. A bit nervous to not be near water for a whole week. How will we cope!
Well we spent the first day working out the town, it took about 5 minutes as it was Sunday and everything was closed. Alice (as the locals call it) is a small country town, which is along a river that never runs!
The following day we pick up our tour to the main attractions in the Northern Territory.
Our first stop was some camel riding, neither of us had done this, pretty strange, but great!
We made our way into the Kata Tjuta National Park to see Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and the magnifcent Ulura (Ayers Rock) It was a great experience watching the sunset change the colour of the rock with a glass of wine in hand.
An early rise for sunset at Ulura, then a walk all the way around the base. As we left the rain started, an unusual sight in the Northern Territory! When it started thou it just didn't stop luckily we were in the coach all the time. However when we arrived in Kings Canyon, it was
The Olgas
A short walk aronund these amzaing rocks on the way to Ayres Rock still raining (4 hours later)
We were suppose to be sleeping out under the stars for two evenings! NO WAY! Thankfully we were able to get a tent. The rain brought out a lot of creatures, we even spotted a baby scorpion!
The rain stopped for our walk through the canyon and our quad biking!
The rain started again the following morning, and continued until we got back to Alice Springs. When we got back we found that the River Todd was flowing. We find out later that this has not flown since 2000! 7 years! That is insane, so although its not great that it has rained, it is certainly a rare occurance...
A farewell dinner with our tour group at 'Bojangles' The weirdest pub ever, There are barrels of monkey nuts you have shell and chuck the shells at each other and on the floor!! (they tell you off if you bin them!) The Toilet doors open the wrong way, taps turn on different sinks etc.. Not good when you have had a few!! There are other snakes, guns glued in the bar and you can log online to see us getting drunk cool.. For dinner Catherine ate
Ayres Rock
Finally here to watch the sunset!! An amzing place. more bush tucker! This trip is seeing her eat lots of animals. To add to the Ostrich, she has now eaten buffalo, kangeroo, crocodile and camel Not a whole one (I know she can eat a lot but thats silly) So she is now running, jumping, snapping and has the hump! (No change then she is fine and well, Paul and Agnes!) A great evening was followed by holding a Python. Check out the pics.
We move onto Cairns tomorrow, to start our water sports again. We hope the rain does not follow us.
Loads of Love

Hi Guys, Glad to hear you are still having such a good time. Pity about the rain right enough! Sounds like you are experiencing the bush life! Take care both of you
