We arrived at Surf Camp at 4.30pm on Tuesday 15 May after a 9 hour bus ride from Sydney. Within 30 minutes, we had our wetsuits on and surfboards in hand and we headed to the beach. After a quick briefing session on how to stand up on the board as a wave approaches, we were in the sea trying to surf. It was a lot more fun than I thought and I managed to stand up on the board about half of the time. It did become very tiring, especially walking out to sea each time while carrying the board. It was a shame when we had to stop surfing due to the dark as we were just getting into it. After the group had showers, we all had dinner and drinks together at the camp. The night sky was very clear and we just gazed at all the stars while drinking our beers on the beach. We woke up at 7am on Wednesday for a buffet breakfast and we departed at 8am for our bus to Byron Bay.
