Lake Keepit
Hill End - Lake Keepit - Sawn Rocks - Moree - Dalmorton - Home

From Hill End we had planned to go to Barrington Tops National Park. Stopping along the way for brunch we were warned by a road worker that a major storm is expected in the area that night. We arrived at Scone and went to the Visitors Information Centre for information about the national park. They also warned of the storm and also advised that it is often worse at the top of the mountain, so after doing some BOM research we decided to head north west instead of East -hoping to avoid the worse of the storm. We had been to Lake Keepit many years ago and thought we'd check it out again - the state park is now managed by Inland Waters Holiday Parks. We managed to dodge most of the storm and only got the edge of it overnight - by morning it had cleared up and was nice and sunny again.

We then headed off to Moree via Sawn Rocks (Kaputar National Park). I had tried to visit the Kaputar National Park during a previous trip and found it closed for maintenance. This time it

was open and it was a nice diversion. After doing the walk we took the back road through Terry Hie Hie to Moree.

What can I say about Moree - we have been here a few times before, but this is the first time camping. We setup camp and headed to the thermal pools to soak. It was bloody hot so we mostly used the cooler of the thermal pools. So nice to have a couple of days soaking! On the second night I found a jam buddy to play with. We had very different styles but had fun anyway - not sure if everyone else enjoyed it us much as we did...

Leaving Moree we headed to Copeton Dam for a couple of days, but when we saw what it was like we decided to continue on. We decided to go on to the Old Glen Innes Road and stay overnight at the National Park campground at Dalmorton. It was beautiful - and we were the only ones there. So peaceful and relaxing. The perfect night before heading home for a short while.

We hope to fix the suspension on the camper trailer then head out

Lake Keepit - camp

PS: Camper trailer - springs on the suspension (both sides) are broken. Parts on the way...
