Mt Tamborine
Black shiny lizard Back in Towoomba at our friends Neil and Mandy’s place for a couple of days so we have come full circle since we set off 2 months ago. We are definitely not the greenhorns we were when we initially started but still manage to repeat the same old silly mistakes like not checking that all cupboard doors are locked and the skylight closed before setting off on the road. On the whole I think we are wiser really and still very much enjoying our adventure.
We explored part of the riverside in Towoomba by bike which proved to be very pleasant and the view from the lookout at Picnic Point was amazing. With a population of 90,000 Towoomba is very busy with many, many huge noisy trucks passing through delivering goods to the inland towns.
We then headed for Surfers to spend a couple of days with our daughter Kylie to assist her move into her new apartment. Very nice with 3 swimming pools, a sauna and tennis court. A far cry from my flat that I shared in London! We took time out to take a drive up Tamborine mountain to do a sky walk among the tree

Start of Dingo fence in QLD that stretches to WA to keep dingos away from sheep in the south tops and other short walks which were really interesting. Tamborine relies on the tourist trade so there were the usual fudge shops, cheese tasting and even beer tasting so it was a very enjoyable day that we had.!
We then headed for our friend's Jo’s place in Cornubia, south of Brisbane for a whole week where it was weird once again to sleep in a bed in a house after so long being in the rv. Had a great time there, especially food wise as we had fish and chips at the beach, a neighbourhood sausage sizzle to celebrate the Melbourne Cup along with fancy hats for all, a delicious meal at a Mexican restaurant and even another fantastic tasty roast at another neighbour’s home.
I also spent one day shopping and having lunch with Kylie whilst Pete went touring with another guy so it was refreshing for us to get away from each other plus for me to spend time with Kylie.
Now we are back on the road and it has been raining on and off since we arrived, not that it is a problem as we have all our travel guides out and are

Huge fields of barley everywhere. trying to decide which road to take! This free campsite comes with 3 very very loud roosters who seem to take it in turns to crow from early evening and recommence very very early in the morning! They are quite big so obviously well fed by all the campers passing through.
We crossed into NSW from Queensland yesterday so now are one hour older! Coolangatta and Tweed Heads, the border towns are quite nice and seem to take life at a slower pace compared to Surfers Paradise. The sand on the beaches is just as white as further north and great to walk along. Water was fresh though and not warm enough yet for me to contemplate a swim.
