Hey everyone,
So it had only been a few weeks since i caught up with Bianca in Sydney upon my arrival to Australia but this time i was going for a whole week of adventures which began the minute i got off the 14hr bus from Byron bay. Bi quickly whisked me off to Canberra for the full day tour. Its a lovely city and is very beautiful. Saw parliament, the Telstra tower visited the annual Floriade show and stopped off to see the worlds biggest Merino (nativish aussie sheep).
Next on the list was the Parklife music festival in Moore Park Sydney. I was a little unsure at first as I had never heard of any of the lineup and i'd been told it was mostly dj's and dance music. Turns out I had one of the best days ever. The sun was beating, the music was blasting (and i really enjoyed it) and the aussies showed me what a festival is all about.
In the following few days i got a tour of Darling harbour from Bi's best mate Shannon. Visited the Imax cinema and saw the Ant Bully 3D - its hilarious and has a crazy grannie in
Parliament
The nations capital - Canberra it. Walked around the Chinese gardens and saw Bondi Beach - all in one day. By this point I was wondering if Sydney could get any better.
Next a day trip to the Blue Mountains just West of Sydney. Saw the three sisters, rode on the worlds steepest railway, did a bit of bush walking through thousand of gum trees and rainforest, rode on a gondola and ate some mean pies and cream buns also managed to squeeze in a waterfall.
On my final day in Sydney I got Bianca to take me to the beach as I hadn't actually swam in the ocean yet. At 7.30 we headed off and soon I was in the water at Cronulla beach. It was really warm there were tonnes of surfers and some pretty big waves which i kept gettin pummelled by. We then went to Taronga zoo. we took the ferry from circular quay and got the most unbelieveable view of the harbour bridge and the opera house from both the zoo and the boat. Saw lots of cute animals like wombats, platypus's, giraffes lions tigers roo's wallabies and a kimodo dragon. It was fantastic and the weather was hot.

If you've read my other journals you'll know this cow has actually escaped from the Edinburgh cow parade - small world eh! had an absolute riot in Sydney and had so much fun meeting all of Bi's mates and drinkin alot of aussie beer. It was a non stop adventure and I was rather sad to leave but its alright cause im more than likely gonna be back there in the next few years. Next stop New Zealand though gotta go,
Julie
