Today was the last day avec Darren and we had decided to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb! Paul had already done it with his family at christmas........................................
The weather wasnt great but it was our last chance to do it..........................................
We did the night climb............
Takes bout 1hr to kit us up- everything and i mean everything is clipped onto you! Even the hair scunchy! You got fleeses, raincoats, beanie and even a handkerchief attatched to you! It was all very professional! You even had a little mock practice of climbing the types of ladders you would be using!!!!!
By the time we got out there it was pissing it down!!!! So heavily! But you it made it a better experience and the atmosphere was fantastic...................... there was a fog lingering over the Opera House! It was all very magical!!!!
It took just under 2 hrs to complete the walk........ it was very easy- its not exactly a climb but there are a few ladders involved........ we had little torches on our heads to see and we all had our raincoats on! When you go up the ladders you become level with the traffic crossing the bridge and on the way back you are level with the trains! Probably only a metre tops from them! No cameras were allowed up (my worst nightmare!!!) but they took photos of you (which were awful but i had to purchase!) I've popped one on the blog which is actually a photo of the photo they took- thats why its not very clear!
At the top you could see lights for miles! The most amazing view was seeing all of the cars lights going over the bridge...........................................................
Anyway this was one of my highlights of the trip and well worth the money ($165)! Would recommend it to anyone- especially the night one! A great experience!
