Final preparations
Mum's clearly not impressed with Kam's style of packing. ....just can't wait to get on the road again.
Yes, I know it's not technically correct, as we're flying to South Africa, but you get my drift. Kam and I have spent the last couple of days, running around like chickens with our heads cut off hunting for a sleeping bag for Kam, shoes for me, organising our finances, obtaining international driver's licenses and spending valuable planning time playing Settlers of Catan for six hours straight.
As I write this, we're having a bit of a think about what to pack. It's quarter past 6 in the evening and our flight leaves in less than 12 hours, so it's probably a bit early to start packing, but Kam insisted we leave ourselves plenty of time. Oh well. How much stuff does one need anyway for 9 months travelling around the south-eastern corner of Africa? Most importantly, we've got the necessary gear to identify ourselves as fans of the Aussie Socceroos, whom we'll be supporting in their group games against Germany, Ghana and Serbia.
Wish us luck!
