New Years Eve at Cremorne Point After loading up several Eskys and cooler bags, we set off from Lee and Sarah's house (Crow's Nest) in a cab at midday to get a good spot at
Cremorne Point located on the North Shore of Sydney Harbour. The views from where we were sat were fantastic, could see both the Opera House and Sydney Bridge.
Weather was 35 and sunny...we were baking. Thousands of people were already there, with food, drinks, tents, bbqs etc set for the day and night. A friend of Lee's, Tim, otherwise known as Septic Tank - Yank joined us and later on Chris T.
To cool off we swam in Sydney Harbour which was so cool with an amazing view of the CBD, opera house etc. Spen was filmed in the harbour by a TV crew in a water taxi. There was also a pool we dipped in. The hours just flew by, with lots of chatting and banter. The views and atmosphere were so memorable. We managed to stay cool with lots of drinking and regular dips in the harbour.
As it got darker, boats started gathering in the harbour, which were all lit up. At 9pm there was a

View from where we are sat at Cremorne Point firework display for the children, and midnight, the main show. The display was 15min long and set to music. The theme was love and tolerance, with a pulsating heart in the middle of the bridge, with hearts as a theme throughout. It was really amazing.
After lots of hugging and kissing, everyone started to pack up about 1.00am and made our way up (a very steep hill) towards Neutral Bay to get a cab from there (road blocks applying of course). The walk up the hill was pretty funny, as there were thousands of us, all loaded down with bags and cooler boxes. We were laughing so much over being party going refugees and Lee taking his cooler box on wheels for a walk that we all had to stop and drop everything several times. Really luckily, we all made it home in good time as Chris got a bus home from Manly and we got a cab home - against all the odds on NYEs with stiff competition, but Sar did a great job of hailing one. Best NYE!! Thanks to Sar and Lee for taking us - it was fantastic. XX
