So.. what has happened since the last time I was in here...
Wednesday morning, a guy comes into the dining room of the hostel, asking if anyone is looking for work. YES YES YES, we answered, we are. How easy, its that really just how it works downhere? You dont even have to do anything, the employes will just come to you?
The guy wanted one person for two days, and we offered both of us the day after. So one day, but two people for seven hours. He was really happy to be succesfull in his search so he accepted, and told us, he would pick us up the following morning, at eight am. How Great! We didnt even have to catch a bus to get there. It was almost to good to be true...
Thursday morning, I got up, went for a run, hit the shower and had breakfast with Rikke in the dining room. At eight we were both ready, excited for what was gonna happen, and to earn some money. The guy had mentioned something about cleaning and sorting papers, so were ready getting into an office, doing that. Easy money.
At twenty past eight,
the guy still hadnt shown up. We looked at each other and said, he gotta be kidding us. Twenty minutes late? Thats not very proffesional. We gave it until 8 30, and two minutes before that, he came in the door. With the same clothes he was wearing the day before, oily hair, and alcohol breath. Im sorry for being late he said. Everythings good, we replied back, and got in the car. He seemed nice, asked us about Denmark and stuff, but seemed like a poor man. He had a nursery, whatever that is, and he was cleaning it out, so it looked nice, and people would buy more stuff from him. We still had no clue, what was ahead of us.
Driving up his drive way, it was just a normal house, not a big office, as we had exspected. He had locked himself out, so he climbed over a fence, fell down, and hit a grill on the other side, with a big bang, sounding like he had really hurt himself. Everything allright? we asked.. Yeah yeah, he was fine, and he locked us in. A dog welcomed us, really cute, but later, we realized that dog,
would make the day a whole lot more... What should I Say, disgusting? Entering the yard, or garden, we realized the work was going to be done outside. The nursery was a private, pland and tree shop. There were two small gardens, but you could barely walk in either of them because of loads of shit. All different kinds of trees, some were death, plants, furniture, shoes, clothes... We walked into a whole different world, and it looked like nothing had been done in this world for years. So our job, this day was to try to clean up the place. We carried trees and plants, that were way to heavy for girls to carry, all day long. Kaktusser, dont know what they are called in english, that we didnt know could sting your hands, so within an hour of work, Malene got her hands filled with small splints, and theyre were gonna stay there for days after.. It was really painfull, and carriyng heavy things at the same time. Oh man, it was gonna be a long day. Within the first hour, Malene also stepped in dog shit, that was were the dog went from being cute to disgusting
and anoying, so the smell were awful. And the shit was everywhere, we just had to accept it, and try not to think about it, anything else was impossible. Around noon time, he offered us lunch. Which means, that he the day before, had promised us lunch, and he would get us lunch, but when we got to the store, he grab his wallet to pay. What an idiot! And we ordered a good meal, we had gotten very hungry, without thinking about, cause he was gonna pay. Getting back to the garden, we ate outside. This man was so dirty and had no manners. He had food all over his face while eating, and made many funny noices, just excused by Im sorry. He had beer, and almost fel a sleep, before we got back to work. And the rest of the day, we had to clean out his office. An african, self built cabin, which from the outside looked really nice. But it wasnt! When he opened the door, stacks of papers almost fel out. He told us, this had happened after doing nothing for three months. We were sure it was years! Pictures, letters, clothes, shoes, cds,
covered the floor. And we had to sort it all out. All his private things. It was a weird feeling, but of course we did it. At two o clock, we were done working, so he dropped us of at the beach. With dog shit all over, and dirt and much more, I jumped in the water, trying to get a feeling of cleaness. And on top of it all, it had been one of the warmest days so far downhere! Not a good experiences. But we got 80 dollars out of it. Enough for some days😊 Next time, we will probably ask about some information before we accept those kinds of jobs.
Im still running everyday. We have discovered new routes around here, and the nature is just so beautiful! Friday morning, we had a yoga class on the beach. A very big event in Sydney, with tv and radio covering. We got up at five in the morning, to be there at six. It was an amzing experience. So many people were there, maybe 500, it was warm, and the sun raised while we had the class. Beautiful! Yoga by the sea, is truly amazing!
Friday night,
was just relaxing. We were down in the dining room, talking to the other people at the hostel. We have gotten to know quite a few now, so theres always someone to talk to. Great! We can learn so much from listening to other peoples experiences, and we have gotten mny good ideas for small trips in Sydney and around. Because, we both agree, we wanna see something besides Sydney, It just needs to be cheap!
We are still doing yoga almost every day, Ive had some issues with my hip, so we only had one dance class this week. We are gonna catch up next week! Then we will just have five classes this week😊
Last night we had some wine and beer after dinner, and we spend the night with many others, also in the dining room. It was a great night! A guy from France, kept us all very entertained, with his magic tricks, and doing magic when youre drunk can only turn out to be hilarious! So much fun, probably the night where we have laughed the most so far.
And this morning we woke up, and both went for a run, so
thats how you deal with hangovers😊
I just spoke to my loved mum and brother on skype, so good to hear how everything is back home. And right now Im on the phone with my boyfriend Kasper. WHO IS COMING HERE IN 24 DAYS! Its amazing, hes coming for a week, just to see me. Neither of us can wait. That will be.. Yeah no words for that. You're the best that has happened to me Kasper. Im so thankful, that youre are doing this for me. For us.
If anyone feels like writing an email, go ahead. Its always nice to hear whats happening back home!
