G'day everyone, hows it going? I know i've been utterly rubbish at keeping this thing updated, but i was saving it all up so i could put lots of photos on and now i think i've got waaaaay too many.....but here goes!! haha!
I think the last time i wrote was the beginning of April....i got a new job since then and am now working in North Ryde where i have to do the mother of all treks to work on the bus, it takes me over an hour to get there and i have to be up at 6 in the morning!! And to think i'm supposed to be on my holidays eh? Not any more...thats for sure! I'm definately getting itchy feet...im fed up of working full time-i wanna do some more travelling! Not long til we go up the coast only 8 weeks left in Sydney now and its starting to get veeery cold now! Well probably not cold like English winters cold...but cold enough, lol!! No more beach days for us :-(
Had a month full of birthdays and fun! Fionnualas and Looces were both in April so there were many craaaazy nights out, A
LOT of singstar (Yes Looce got her playstation sent out-wicked!) and yummy cakes!! Cue photos!! Went to Taronga zoo for Looces birthday too which was fun, saw lots of koalas, roos, tigers, giraffes, penguins, seals...you name it we saw it! And the elephants were all sooooo cute! The most animated ones i've ever seen anyway :-) Was hoping to get a picture with a cuddly koala but we weren't actually allowed to touch them, something to do with their sharp claws apparantly!!
The week after we went to the Blue Mountains for the long bank holiday weekend! That was really cool, the first day we spent on a guided tour walking through the bush and basically being scared by our real life crocodile dundee guide haha!! I think he was just trying to freak us out, by showing us all these poisonous spiders that have webs than span across loads of trees so you have to be really careful not to walk into one, coz if they bite you they'll kill you! yeah as you can tell it was a lovely day out!! At least we didn't have to worry about the snakes that day apparantly they dont come
out when its wet so i think we were all secretly praying it wouldn't stop raining, lol!! We got to see the three sisters though which was pretty cool and got this really random vertical train back up the mountain. I think we walked for about 6 hours that day so by the time we got back to the hostel i was absolutely shattered!!
The next day we woke up feeling rather energised and thought why don't we go for a leisurely mountain bike ride.....i don't know what the hell we were thinking coz is was god damn TORTURE!!! i think we ended up pushing our bike more than cycling, lol-it was pretty much up mountains not little hills-we even had trouble walking up some of the tracks!! But shouldn't moan its was good exercise and the views over the bush were AMAZING!!!
Week after that was my birthday and we did soooo much cool stuff! Which reminds me, thanks to everyone for all my messages and cards and presents, they were all amazing, i was really shocked to get anything here in Sydney so thank you soooo much! :-D Went out for drinks on the actual day
and then had to struggle into the work the next day, not good! Went to Sydney aquarium on the saturday which was awesome, the sharks they had in their were HUGE, altho you probably won't believe this but some of the sting rays they had in there were even bigger!! And they had the biggest sea turtle too which looked just like the ones in Finding Nemo, soooo cute! Then that night had a big night out in the city with everyone in know in Sydney....and it was in the cheesiest place you can imagine! Made me feel like i was back in the Priz again, lol...the boys hated it hahaha! But i made them stay!
Blimey this blog is getting long...im sorry if im rambling! Before i go, i just wanna tell you all about Melbourne! We went a few weeks ago for a 5 day mini-holiday! I think we all needed to get away from work to be honest! But...it was bloody cold, i haven't felt that cold for a long long time, felt like it was gonna snow and it rained non-stop one day and we were all exploring the city cold and wet and feeling
miserable, lol! See you guys all think its still warm over here. ITS NOT!!! lol! But we still had a great time, spent our first day on a guided tour of the Great Ocean Road, its basically a REALLY long road that stretches the entire south of Australia along the coast and there are loads of beautiful beaches and we got to see the Twelve Apostles which are these really famous rock formations just off the coast. They're these huge stack thats were formed buy the coast line slowly eroding away! We also saw (and i think this is way more exciting) the lighthouse where "Round the Twist ' was filmes hahaha! C'mon you must all remember that really weird Ozzie show??? Have you ever, ever felt like this? lalalala!!
Anyway...moving swiftly on...haha!! Erm what else did we get up? Oh yeah me and Looce took a bus down to see the real life Ramsay street which isnt even called Ramsay street-how dissapointing?!! We actually felt kinda cheeky walking around and taking photos coz 'normal' people live there...altho was way too excitable to care that much!! That night we'd booked to do the Neighbours night and omigod it was
one of the best nights out ive had in AAAGES!! Was soooo mcuh fun and we met loads of cool people, all British! (Australians hate Neighbours lol) We got to meet four of the stars, Karl and Libby Kennedy, Marco and Rachel Kinski and they all walked round and chatted to everyone and wer got to have our photos taken etc etc! Got a little bit star struck and very excited, Looce laughed at me as i tried to hug Marco haha! Christ i am an embarrassment to myself haha!
I was actually really looking forward to coming back to Sydney though, id really missed it the five days we were away, how am i gonna cope when i come home for good? lol! So anyways...i think thats about it, havn't really been up to anything exciting the past few weeks, just been trying to save as much as we can before we go up the East Coast on the 21st July. Been to the cinema a few times with my Ozzy mates...what the hell is with the new Indiana Jones anyways...weird! And last weekend we had bank holiday for the queens 'unofficial' birthday, so we went to the
Blues and Jazz Festival down at Darling Harbour which was awesome! They had the stage floating in the water and the fireworks after were AMAZING!! They must have spent a fortune!
I can't believe how quickly the time is going and im really annoyed i haven't got the slightest twang of an Ozzy accent, doh! :-( Only 4 and a half weeks until we leave now....and so many little things to do and see before we go, my diarys getting very full! Starting to feel a bit sad about going but itching to do some travelling now too, wanna get away from all this damn rain, haha!!
I hope everyones well, back home and enjoying the sunshine you lucky people!! :-)
Thinking of you all, all my love Em xxx
ps im really sorry...i started this blog on the 26th May, lol and can't believe i've only just published it, doh!
