Hey everyone, well I have spent 3 days in training now...the facilities are amazing...its bascially an orientation of the new equipment and such...Here in Sydney i have the rank of Senior Firefighter whisch is way cool...they have like 100 recruits going through right now...They have like 3000 full time and 3000 reatined employed (paid volunteers)
One asppect of this job here i never considered was the Terrorist treats and the target that Sydney could become, so there is alot of training geared toward that...kinda freaky...and i work in the downtown core station...we get on average 18 calls a day and 16 at night...dont need sheets for this station..lol...other than that life is going on as we know it...work all day, coffee at the beach...my driving has improved lots...
FOr the guys at the station, you wont believe this....i got accepted to take the USAR course here!!!!!!!! they actually made an extra spot for me...it is one of the best in the world...and that will make me qualified here to be a Rescue Tech (which make extra money by the way) ...I had a meeting with the commisioner and inquired about it and he put me on it
Training Pumper
me hanging out here in the winter...on the training grounds right away...and might get a chance to rappel the Opera House....thay are looking after me so well here...
Well enough of my boring stuff....keep posting me what is going on there....
