So i arrived in Sydney on 25th of Feb and i have done absolutely looooads since then. The hostel is a bit shit if i'm honest, although this one does have windows (unlike hong kong) which is a plus. On my first day naturally i was pretty knackered so i just went out for a bit of a wander and didn't stray too far. Just to the nearby Subway which was a damn lucky find and a damn good sandwich! Then later i went out for a couple of pints with an Israeli guy called Nir and a Belgian guy called Remi, both guys from my room. The rest of that evening was spent playing on the FREE pool table in the hostel with a few other guys there, most of whom were fat and middle aged, but one was scottish and ginger which helped keep me amused. Nice guys though and we had a good laugh with one of the guys putting on metallica on the jukebox a lot as we played, which can only be a good thing.
The 2nd day i was planning on buying a few things and setting up a bank etc, but i ended
The view from the Zoo
When you see something like this it really hits home where i am and how great it is that i am here. Some of these views are just spectacular!! I am so lucky to be here! up getting side tracked and went on the monorail to darling harbour which was stunning, then made my way up to the opera house and the royal botinica gardens. It was such a surreal feeling sitting in the middle of the gardens eating a sandwich (chicken and mayo, great sandwich) whilst surrounded by trees full of fruit bats and in the middle of Sydney in AUSTRALIA. There was an abundance of personal trainers around the gardens followed by their overweight and sweaty customers which was a lovely sight, luckily my sandwich had settled by this point as seeing that many man breasts bouncing around as they jog was not pretty! There is a great picture of a freaky looking spider i saw as well which looks poisonous or something, so naturally i got up real close to get a great shot of it just for you guys reading this.
On my wanders i managed to stumble across the New South Wales Art Museum and i noticed entry was FREE. I was actually quite impressed and spent atleast an hour there. A very good mix of art was on show; oil paintings, manga, sculptures, short films, modern art, photography. i really
A giraffe
What a beautiful piece of photography! see what i've done there, i have the giraffe in the picture in the foreground and you can see the sydney opera house in the background....talent. enjoyed it and have attached some pictures of my favourite pieces, whether i should have taken pics or not i don't know but it's too late now!
I also bought my weeks shopping later this day which only cost about 12 quid!!! BARGAIN!!!
After all that walking about for nearly 4 hours i was pretty knackered so i ended up falling asleep at about 9pm, what a party animal!
The 3rd day was spent getting a couple of things i needed, flip flops, board shorts etc. I couldnt set up a bank account though because apparently i needed to show my passport and it seems im gonna have to hang around in sydney for a bit longer to wait for my card to arrive (5-7 working days). I also booked up with oz experience, which is my pass up the East Coast for the next 6 months, so that was pretty exciting!! In the afternoon i went down to Sydney Aquarium with Nir, his mate Roi, and a german guy i played pool with the first night called Viktor. Sydney aquarium was pretty awesome and we spent a good 2 hours here. It got me pretty excited about
the scuba diving i will be doing later on in my trip cos i was looking at things i will be seeing in the wild, including the sharks!!!
We got back to the hostel at about 5pm and i ended up falling asleep until 7pm, when i woke up and decided i would have another little nap and then get up and have some food....i didn't get up till 7am....it was a good nap. : )
Today i went on a tour of Sydney harbour and stopped off at Toronga Zoo with Nir, which was absolutely AMAZING. So many kick ass animals and such a huge zoo. I got to see bears and a PLATYPUS which is a lot smaller than i thought it would be, but still, it was amazing. There was a great bird show and seal show as well. We spent ages watching the elephants cos all 5 of them were just playing in the water righti n front of us for ages, they looked so happy it was great! We also got to see the otters being fed which was pretty cool. We must have spent about 4 hours here but i think i could
have spent longer, however after an absolutely brilliantly sun filled hot day the skies took a change for the worst and the rain began to fall. So back we came and here i am updating my blog. Sorry it's been such a long dreary boring one but i got quite a few photos so just look at them instead of reading this, although you will have already read all of this before you see that bit...oh well. Here is some photos. 😊
Ok so my camera just died on me so the rest of the photos will come on this blog soon...sorry.

That kangaroo must be having an epileptip fit. I hope it is ok... It is extremelely strange to see you standing in front of the opera house, very very strange. You should be here in my room playing crib or something, not in Australia!! Still, it looks freakin' awesome all the stuff you're doing. Buy an underwater disposable camera for when you go scuba diving!
