On the way to Darling Harbour went over this splendid bridge
Down Town Sydney

After the exhilaration of the “Climb ‘ decided to chill out the following day But on the Friday decided to travel up the Parramatta River on the River Cat . Eddy took me to Darling Harbour, on the way travelled over ANZAC Bridge (originally called Glebe bridge but renamed as the ANZAC Bridge as a memorial to members from both sides of the Tasman who formed the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps - the ANZACS. A bronze statue of a World War 1 Digger was placed on the monument at the western end on the 25th April 2000.
A handful of sand from Gallipoli rests under the foot of the digger as a permanent connection with comrades who fell and remain at the Gallipoli Battlefield in Turkey.

Then down into Darling Harbour to get the River Cat to the Parramatta Wharf ,this was to take
about an hour .on route viewed some fine houses but as you got further up it became more industrial .After about 45 mins having made several stops arrived at Rydalmere that was as far as this particular cat was to go .the river by this time had reduced considerable in width and depth ,transferred to much smaller cat to The Parramatta wharf .The channel by this time was only a couple of metres deep and could only cater for one cat going up or down. Then returned to Darling Harbour direct as there wasn’t much to see on the return .

Decided to go for lunch and watched some of the one day game played between England and Australia .I m despaired at England’s performance so made my make my way back to the Town Hall.
They Run a monorail over the city so as a novelty jumped aboard ,this took me to Galleries Victoria just around the corner from the Town Hall .there towering skyward was the Sydney Tower ”got go up that “

Sydney Tower (also known as the AMP Tower, AMP Centrepoint Tower, Centrepoint Tower or just Centrepoint) is Sydney's tallest free-standing structure, and the second tallest in Australia (with the Q1 building on the Gold Coast being the tallest). It is also the second tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere (after Auckland, New Zealand's Sky Tower); though Sydney Tower's main observation deck is almost 50 metres higher than

One of two old boats
that of Auckland's Sky Tower.
The tower stands 305 metres above the central business district,
The total cost of construction was A$36 million.

From the observation deck is at 250 metres, you still get a terrific view of Sydney. If you want to go higher you can do the skywalk but as always at a cost and seeing I had climb the Bridge didn’t bother.
Although they say you get up there in the high speed lifts in 30 secs it actually took 3 mins probably doing it in 30secs you would leave your knickers behind.
From there returned to ground level and strolled along the Street passing past Queen Victoria building now owned by Singaporeans who pumped millions into redevelopment. But kept the original structure and character of the building.
All up market shops.
From there got the train back to Ashfield, had beer in the local Catholic and Community centre watched all the Sydneysiders bashing away on the Pokies (they are everywhere) and saw the end of the one game. England getting thrashed again by Australia in the one day game .

Saturday going to the Hawkesbury River and over the Wiseman Ferry to the Settlers
