Harbour bridge and the Opera House Another smooth flight from Bangkok to Sydney once again landing in beautiful sunshine. Our hotel (Sebel Pier One) is right by Harbour Bridge with the Opera House just a short way across the harbour. Flights and time differences playing havoc with our bodyclocks!
11th January Up and early and bought daytripper ticket and jumped on the 8am ferry to Rose Bay. Quick and healthy (?!?) Brekky in Berlascino's cafe and then on to Watson's Bay. Great chilled beach. Took a walk round part of the coastline to South Head which has stunning views and then sampled the legendary fish and chips at Doyle's back at Watson Bay before jumping on the bus to the famous Bondi beach. We decided to do the Bondi to Coogey coastal walk which provides some wonderful coastal views. Another scorching day (30+ degrees) so Helen's sarong is made into a headscarf for Rod to stop his head from frying! Picture to be supplied.
13 January - Another great sunny day! Deciided to take a gentle stroll through the botanical garden and then on to the victorian area of Paddington. Later headed out for pizza with Rachel (sister of Hannah, friend of Helen!) and her

South head, Watson Bay boyfriend Dave and friends. Then on to a busy bar in King's Cross for more beers and vodkas.
14 January - Rod up at 7am for the Blue Mountains trip. Great landscape and interesting bunch of people on the trip. Young couple from Bristol, couple of retired boys from Bradford on Avon and a scientist from Siberia! Once again stunning weather! On the way back stopped at the Sydney Olympic park whcih is a very impressive sports complex, the accommodation of which has now been converted into a new suburb of Sydney.
Ta ta for now
