Halloween
Halloween party - Phil Kate Me and Sofie Hello peeps
Oooooook, well alot of people having been going on about how i haven't posted one of these blogs in a long time. Some of you have put it down to being back in a '1st world country' but the simple reason is i've been to tired to really put my mind to it because of work and such things. (also i refuse to pay the internet cafe prices out here hehe).
Well.. where do i start, it's been the better part of 4 months since i last put a post up here. If memory serves i was talking about our last few days in Malaysia.
Well after there we flew down to melbounre, in the process katie managed to consume the last of her 'tranquilisers' (which has her worried for our next flight she may not have any) and a generous amount of alcohol. Needless to say she was pretty much obvlivious to the whole flight, which is good from her perspective i guess. We had prearranged a coach from melbourne straight to Sydney, all that remained was a 7 hour wait as we landed at 12am and the flight wasn't until around 7:30ish. I feel it

Christmas Day - Me, Claire + Imogen appropriate to say at this point that when we tried to withdraw some money during this time we had a little heart attack as we thought we had run out of cash and were stranded in Melbourne (couldn't even afford to get to the bus depot), turns out the bank had been kind to us and flagged our accounts for fraud (must be the 4/5 time now) as we keep moving countries - all this despite them being told we were travelling and knowing which countries we were visiting. Luckily we managed to sort it asap and caught our bus to Sydney Woohoo!!.
The first few weeks are kind of a blur.. first night was spent in kings cross... not the most desirable area in sydney.. it's kinda the red light district so i'll leave it to your imagination needless to say we moved to woolloomooloo the next day (love that name!!) and sent a few weeks in a hostel whilst looking for jobs and a place to call home!!.
Finally we moved into Surrey Hills, a huge house with a massive shared kitchen and 4 bathrooms and 9 shared bedrooms. Me and kate are sharing together. The people

Some of the other guys from the house in the house are really nice! (i'll add pictures later). We get on with them all really well, despite a few changes in faces most of us are the same and get on, it's weird sharing the same house with 18 - 20 people over the past 3 months but it is good to live somewhere meet new people.
Katie is working in a cafe around the corner, which she hates but is perservering to save the money required.. but looking for a new job all the same. I am working in an Aquatics store waaay out in the bush, puts commuting for me in a whole new perspective. It takes me about 1.5 hours to get to and from work.. which for a shop seems excessive to me but it's ok. Same as what iwas doing back home essentially. The scenery on the way down makes up for it though.. or should i say on the way back as i tend to sleep on the train down.
As i mentioned before the house is really nice. WE have had a few parties and BBQ's on our rooftop terrace, which kinda looks over Sydney were it not for
a tree right in the middle of our view 😊. Halloween was fun, we all had a Good Vs Bad Clown party which proceeded down to the local pub for Karaoke (i'll see if i can dig up the photo's later on). Christmas and new year was great. Christmas was spent on Coogee beach at a nice 30C clear blue skies followed by a party back at the house with BBQ on the roof. New year was spent down with a view of the harbour bridge watching the fireworks, and (this may surprise some of you) didn't actually get too drunk, twas a really good social thing though 😊. Over those weeks our room was abit packed out though.. we had Imogen and Claire staying with us whom we met up in the Himalayan mountains which was great to see them again and also a girl kate met at a temping job down here called Vic..needless to say we were glad to have our space back at the end, if not sad to see them move on with their travels.
So what plans for the future?? Well, as i'm sure some of you may have heard by now we
Art
My Art work on Imogen - They gave us facepaints for christmas won't be back for june/july as originally planned. We just won't have enough money to do South America in that time so we will be in Australia saving until the very latest time we have to leave give or take 2 - 3 weeks to do the Great Barrier reef, Ayers rock and the gold coast (oh, and i plan to do a few things like climb the harbour bridge, blue mountains etc). Then we will be moving on to New Zealand and carry onto South America as planned. Though to be honest it makes sense to be here and working.. from what we hear in England it's almost impossible to get a job at the moment!
Well.. thats it, a brief overview of the past 4 months of Australia.. i could go on more but it seems like an English essay at the moment 😊. I hear it's really cold back in Ol' blighty at the moment, over hear, especially over the past week we have been getting days of 35-40 degree days. It's unbearable at work at the moment as neither of us have air conditioning where we are!! It has rained alot today though.. so it's

Imogens art work.. Tiger RAWR!.. with antlers and a singing tie... not all sun sand surf and sea 😊
I'll try to keep this updated abit more often now that we were given a laptop.. the screen doesn't work had to hook it up to the TV but it works which is the main thing 😊.
All the best
