Royal Easter Show

It's all about who you know, and Mark knows one of the ladies managing the dog show at the Easter Show. This is a major event in Sydney held at the huge Olympic Park filled with rides, livestock, games, competitions, shows...and we got free tickets! Score!

I have to admit being a city girl I haven't been to any country fairs so had no idea what to expect and was rather disinterested about the whole thing. But once we arrived and escaped the hoards of families with push chairs I was smiling the entire day! I came face to face with goats, pigs, sheep, all sorts of animals. The highlight had to be seeing nd filming a chick hatch out of its shell...amazing.

We watched a fantastic fashion parade, everything made out of wool...beautiful wedding gowns, stylish dresses and suits I was shocked it was all wool! The were stunt men, guys on bikes, people dressed up in silly costumes and some impressive acrobatics to keep us entertained throughout the day. When it came to the finale I was shattered but Mark persuaded me that it was well worth staying for...and it was. The bull riding had me literally on the edge of my seat, it was very frightening then a frenzy of cars, motor bikes and diggers raced around the main area doing breath taking tricks, flips and wheelies. The night ended with a ride on the Ferris wheel then back to see the laser and fireworks.

So now after a full weekend of meeting animals, driving through the country, seeing cowboys in there boots and hats have I been converted?

How about an apartment in the city AND a house on 100 acres?! Cowgirl out incl. Well a girl has to dream!
