Enroute to Santiago, Chile

A 17-hour trip including a near three-hour connection in Sydney. Santiago time is 13 hours behind Brisbane. Our flight left at 7:30am and arrived at 11:55am on the same day, so our sleep on the plane (such as it was) has to do for nearly two days.

Unfortunately, Qantas again managed to meet our low expectations. We had comfortable pyjamas and seats on the upper deck of a 747-400, but the TV screens were average and many food options were no longer available when our turn came. I asked for a listed wine but was told the supplied wine list was not carried on this aircraft - say what? At least our flight steward was friendly and helpful, not usually a feature of Qantas service.

Watched the latest Mission Impossible movie (best heroine so far) and also the 2013 Jackie Weaver film Silver Lining Playbook, which was also pretty good.

I am flying Virgin direct to LA - so hope I can get a good wine- in fact any wine would probably do. Still you look comfortable? Full flight?
