Manly
Manly Beach Having met up with Adrian, a guy from Zurich, who did the Backstage tour of the Opera House we decided to take a trip over to Manly about a 35 minute ferry trip from Circular Quay at Sydney Harbour The weather was a bit wet but we thought it might clear and you get some great views of the harbour from the ferry Once at Manly we had a lovley walk along the beach and up over the cliff just as the sun was trying to shine through Then returning to Circular Quay we got our shots of the Opera House and Bridge from the Harbour
Later in the day I met up with my old flat mate from London, Jason who is Australian and lives in Sydney. It was so good to see him again after several years We decided to have a drink in the bar on the 36th Floor of the Hotel As we were getting our drink and admiring the view I heard a voice call out "Hi Keith how are you and what are you doing in Sydney!?" It was some very old friends from my Concord Singers days in Maidstone who were also visitng friends
Manly
Manly Town Centre in Sydney. Had we tried to arrange this meeting it would never have happened how small the world is!
Jason and I had a great time catching up on news, we went for a meal on the Quay and then to see the new British film Death at a Funeral which was hysterical but gave me nighmares! The first scene was the funeral directors bringing home a coffin. As the lid was opened the family looked in and said it was the wrong body!! We decided to have an ice cream while watching the film, it was the most difficult I had ever eaten and we both ended up with chocolate all over our clothes trying to eat the damm think in the dark! However, it was delicious and we did have a laugh and a great evening
Off to The Blue Mountains in the morning.....

You must be exhausted by now!
Well Mr Viner, I'm sure nobody can accuse you of having missed the slightest opportunity to visit a 'must see' place. I can't believe how much you've managed to fit in during your trip! I feel exhausted just reading it. But what a fab series of memories you'll have, especially having done this blog. Was great to see the city pics in contrast to the beautiful landscapes you've previously blogged, and how great to see the views of Sydney and Sydney Opera House inside and out. Well done. Have a safe and comfy flight to Hong Kong and we'll see you soon xxx
