Hi everyone.

I thought I might start this up as a way to share how I'm going with the planning of our great South East Asian odyssey at Christmas time. It's actually got a lot more involved than what I thought originally, but it's exciting nonetheless!

Here's the proposed itinerary:

• Sydney to Darwin (flight)
  
• Darwin to Singapore (flight)
  
• Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and onto Penang (train)
  
• Train from Butterworth to Bangkok (overnight)
  
• Bangkok for New Years Eve!
  
• Bangkok to Phnom Penh (flight)
  
• Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (bus)
  
• Siem Reap to Vientiane (flight)
  
• Vientiane to Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang (bus)
  
• Luang Prabang to Hanoi and Halong Bay (flight)
  
• Hanoi to Danang (flight)
  
• Danang to Ho Chi Minh City (train)

I know, I wish we didn't have to take so many flights, with the polluting and what not, but we're quite short on time for what we want to see and do. I guess it's a lightning tour 😊
