Bega Cheese Factory
Had a good night in a comfortable room and got away about 9 am to the Bega Cheese Factory had a good look around and coffee and cake drove on out after filling up with gas toward Tathra on the coast, the old town up on top of the headland took a drive down to the beach where they were having Surf Life Saving Comps didn't hang around for long and onto Merimbula through very green farmland and estuaries. Reached Merimbula about mid day very busy and a good size upmarket looking seaside town ... lots of Oyster farms up the estuary and their EAT festival on along the estuary, we found a park quite close and had a walk along the food tents baiscally cleaned out of all their fare and only cash sales so we returned to the car and carried on just out of town and found an establishment and Oyster processing factory Wheelers ... we purchased a dozen battered Oysters and Chips and had a taste.... no where near as big as our NZ Bluff Oysters. Back in the car by 2pm and on through Pambula we didn't stop but drove through more lovely farmland to Eden

Tathra
on the coast. Found Twofold Bay Motor Inn right in town checked in and into room by 3.30pm, Don had a snooze and I started the blog and catching up on a few things, the driving I am finding a lot easier and achievable than I expected and because I am behind the wheel am taking a lot of little stops and exploring more than the old A to B..... around 4.30pm we went out for a drive around found the port and a lot of fishing industry and an old Whaling station .... drove along the beach stopping at the end where we talked on the beach to 3 older fellas onto something big... took about an hour to land their catch and as its fishing comp week did very well with a big Bronze Whaler we felt a bit sad for this beautiful fish .... back and had a rum and coke before heading over to the RSL for dinner a buffet which was okay but very much mass produced food .... back to the Hotel and another rum and coke to close the day.
