Not much to report today …… after breakfast in the dinning room we spent the whole day in our room resting and recovering after the last 6 weeks … Don slept all day with another bug brewing 🤯….. ventured out about 5 pm and had dinner at KFC 2 doors down it has been drizzling all day…. Back to the room and ready for flight tomorrow to Switzerland.... read more

(Have got very behind with blog as been very down and out with our THIRD set of virus in 7 weeks 🤯…. ). Up and off on our tour up to the hospital in the rocks on the Buda side of the Danube …. Great walking tour of a few important sites first on the Pest side in city and a look out over the city on the Buda side…. Short walk to the hospital in the rocks and a very interesting hour tour underground (10 km of tunnels) lots of history and information great to experience and something different!!!… from there we travelled about half an hour up the hills through nature reserves to the restaurant for lunch … traditional Hungarian fare and music entertainment…. Had a good nights sleep in larger quarters and another buffet breakfast 😵‍💫…. Off on our bus and walking tour of the city with our local guide … very informative and I must say the most thumping big city of monstrous buildings I have ever seen … statues ginormous!!! Finished with him around 11 am and a series of instructions for hotel shuttle times and service back to the hotel …. Had a coffee grande (everything is of grand proportions here) and lovely cake at McCafe and bought a few more souvenirs …. Found our way around to the museum of applied arts and Don enjoyed all the antique furniture I found some Austrian lace and crockery displays …. Back to the bus stop at 2.30 pm and travelled back to the hotel had a rest ... read more

Up early breakfast and on the bus to Salzburg 3 hours and arrived at 11 am … a great guide gave us lots of local information and saw the scenery en route…. Our guide gave us a great walking tour of the Sound of Music sights and the cities history and architecture…. Had some free time bought our usual souvenir pins and some chocolates and met at the bridge 1pm and on the bus to drive up the mountain overlooking Salzburg for lunch …. Amazing view and a show with Sound of Music recreations enjoyed lunch of traditional Austrian food and back on the bus to make the 3 hour journey back to the boat …. Enjoyed cocktails and our last meal on the boat all feeling a little down and tired after a long day ... read more

Up early breakfast and on the bus into Nuremberg saw the old city walls and walked up to the Imperial castle got a great view of the city ….headed down the hill and all the main points of history to the market Square ….had a coffee at a well-known biscuit maker / cafe and saw the clock on the cathedral with sound and movement ….Met at the fountain at 12:30 and walked to the bus through the modern part of the city full of high-end stores ….back to the boat and had some lunch followed by a interesting talk by Hunor about the history of the locks and canals on the river ….We then spent some time up on deck at some of the deepest locks of 25 m and an aqueduct ….enjoyed a few drinks ... read more
