Hello everyone. So hard to get email/internet 'service' all the time. We spent the last 6 days at Copeton Dam (near Inverell NSW) - no service there. The Tanami Track ㅇgood Things : to see the many bird species(rare wild life, night parrots), At the Granites Gold Mine, to see the northwest of Alice Springs, savor the atmosphere of the old workings and original 1930s' buildings. ㅇthe sarlukurlangu Artists' Aboriginal Association in Yuendumu, and the Warlayirtl Art and Cultural Centers in Balgo. ㅇBad Things : This region is a little boring if you don't interested in unusual things like old buildings and rare wild life. There is not enough water, filling station and market. so you have to carry adequate supplies. ㅇSomething to make a good trip : you can join 4x4tour, or hire a 4x4 in Alice Springs. Before you leave home, get a pass from the Central Land Council to visit the Tanami Desert Wildlife Sanctuary. Yuendumu and the Aboriginal lands ... read more

We left Armidale and headed north for warmer weather. Out destination is Cape York eventurally. We are travelling in our Jayco Westport pop-top being towed by our 80 Series Toyota Landcruiser. We have travelled several times before and always enjoyed it, so I expect this time to be no different. Although this time we will not be staying in Caravan Parks as often. and never on our own.We have 12volt, and gas for 'fridge's and our 20i Honda Generator,so having power will not be a problem. (We hope!!) My only problem is that our 'van doesn't have toilet or shower, so we will always have to stop at camps with at least a toilet. We do have a shower tent and 12volt shower!! (or we have A.P.C wash (Arm-Pits and Crutch). So all set we left ... read more
