Now Canberra really does get a lot of bad press, and lets be honest how many people really knew the capital of Australia was Canberra, and not in fact Sydney (I did, due to the help of Mrs Wills in Year 5!). But to be honest we had a good time in Canberra, maybe because we only spent 2 days there, or maybe it was because we were staying with an EXTREMLY hospitable host (thank you kate!). no matter what the reason, Canberra will always hold a special place in mine and nats heart(especially Nats!) because.......

........WE SAW OUR FIRST WILD KANGEROO!!!!!!!....AND CHRIST HE WAS A BEAUT!!!!......

Other than our roo Canberra was also home to some of the best (and free) museums in Australia.

The Anzac museum and the National Museum of Australia were 2 favourites of ours, and after all the museums we have seen on our trips that means alot!

We also hit parliament house, which is kind of weird as it it built into the ground and has grass on it that you could walk on to. The idea is that the government is under the people...but it just made

me think of the Shire in Lord of the Rings, only less Hobbity and more er.....parliamentary!!!!!

The major gripe i would have with canberra would be how planned out it is, really circular and weird, like a model town, this comes from how new it is, (1920's i think, i might be making that up) it just feels kind of fake and unlived in, but despite this it really was a great few days but after our whirlwind tour we headed down to the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne......

wat a pet
hi ya you two, glad to see your still enjoying your selves although i heard you were feeling a bit home sick last week nat hope you got over that pretty quick, i think your mom would love that roo in her garden wat a pet that would make hey, only thing is there wouldnt be any room for the others would there. it looks a bit cold out there seeing you with your big coat on nick, cause its there winter isnt it? im sure that wont stop your activeties thou so keep enjoying every second or your adventures befor you know it itll be time to come home take care luv ya xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
