Family life and education was very big in acient Rome. Many families that were rich had education and the poor only worked as slaves. As long as someone had an education then they would be rich. It's just like how our society is today. It's all determined on education. Many captured slaves that were smart were known for being teachers. They still got alot of money and a home to live in with the same type of meal that rich families get. The only way that a poor child can get an education is if a rich roman adopts him or her. Then he/she can be rich and to not be described as a slave. Many rich Romans did that because many of the children that were slaves were easy to take care of in historical notes.
