Washingtons profile This morning Shelby and I cooked breakfast outside at the campground. Shelby fried bacon and eggs, and I cooked cheese grits and pancakes. Mm, Mm, Gooood!!! Seems anything tastes better cooked under a clear blue sky with a breeze blowing.
The ladies cleaned up after breakfast, that's the deal, when the men cook, the ladies clean up. But wait, when the ladies cook, they also clean up. Well anyway, it seems fair to Shelby and me.
After the cooking, eating, and cleaning was done, we headed out for the Borglum Historical Center, to see what we could learn about the carving of Mt. Rushmore. The process that spanned several decades and hundreds of men was one of inovation, dedication, and hard work.
To put into words the feelings that you have when visiting the monument is impossible for me. Therefore the pictures of a very amateur photographer will have to suffice as my description and emotions.

Loving it!
Hey Jack and Barbara, We are loving your blog and the pictures. What a neat way to journal your trip and stay in contact with everyone. That is awesome that you got to see Mike, Rhonda, Emily, and her boys. Lisa and her granddad came on Friday. They are officially putting the house up for sale. They would like to not list it unless they have to, so if you know anyone that might be interested - let me know and I'll put them in contact with them. It is like $75,000 as is, $77,500 with new carpet and paint, and $92,000 if they put it on the market. Tell Aleta and Shelby we said hello. Take care and have fun! Ida
