The New BridgeThe New BridgeThe New Bridge

At the Hoover Dam
Uneven bedrolls hastily stuffed
mark the beginning of the day
and with few words exchanged
we took to our way

down the long and narrow path
with only our minds to keep us company

solemn loneliness with oneself
where the mystery and uncertainty
makes us pine for
sureness and stability

when in Truth
the Mystery is Great

and the instability is really
being on the wings of an eagle
soaring over unknown lands

when the signs point the way
the path is lit in light
And the sky hums with music
of stars and planets
all through the night

What we've done lately:
Left Vegas (very important!)
Crossed the Hoover Dam
In & Out - Kingman, AZ
Thanks Robert, our wonderful host in Kingman, for your kindness and good conversation
Kickin it down Route 66 with a strong tailwind
Professional photo shoot with Jeremy Woodhouse. Check out his blog: http://www.pixelchrome.com/blog/?p=694
Stuffed full from a cheap breakfast buffet
Baked Beans

Our meals lately have been interesting: Instant Cajun rice with tuna and salsa on tortillas; baked beans and salsa and sesame sticks; quinoa and chili and popcorn; sardines, mustard, honey and sesame sticks
Dam!Dam!Dam!

Hoover
on bread; and, of course, PB & Honey.

On our way to the big canyon for tomorrow night. We suddenly rose in altitude today, leaving behind the high open desert for beautiful pine forests. The weather couldn't be better, and the people couldn't be friendlier. We miss the SF Views and y'all back home.
Much Love,
Kyle and Max

ps: we started cooking with fire -

Counting the flame crackles
won't bring about ash
because the crackles themselves
make the memories of past
