Before we start

Robin and I have been planning this trip for several months, really. Robin in particular has really enjoyed the planning. She has laid out our trip from start to finish...now we will see just how well reality matches expectations...

We are leaving on the 28th from Austin, flying via Southwest Airline to Seattle, where we will connect with Alaska Air to Anchorage. We will drive, bus and train around Alaska for a week, up to Denali, and hopefully, see as much of the state we can. We will then depart from Whittier on a Carnaval cruise ship for Vancouver, a seven day trip, and end our vacation with two days in Vancouver. During the trip, we have plans for some fun side trips to see the glaciers up close, to a "zip line" from tree to tree, and eat a lot of good food.
