Stopping off on route from LA to stay overnight at the lovely coastal town of Little Sur. Cute inns alongside the fairly rugged coast with great views and gentle boarded sea strolling.
Saw this amazing view on route...

Don't worry, they are all well, resting. At this time of year the male bulls are fighting it out to be the alpha males so there is quite a bit of wild neck bashing and grunts and bellows, The smell is almost unbearable but the sight is wonderful, like nothing we have ever seen. It was like being in an animal park without fences. Everyone was very respectful and the seals seemed to have no idea we were looking down upon them.
