St. Maarten, also known as "the Friendly Island"...half Dutch/half French.

A lively welcome by the locals with steel band music playing at the port, when stepping off the "Celebrity Eclipse" cruise ship on 28 December, 2011, will always be remembered.

Browsing and shopping in Marigot was fun (weekly Wednesday art market - where local artists display their colorful creations).

Upon arrival at Kon Tiki (a casual restaurant located on Orient beach), a refreshing fruit punch beverage was offered. Numerous water sports are available or one can relax on a bright orange lounge chair and take in the sights/scent of the clear blue Caribbean water!

Picturesque with two personalities; explore both sides of this island and experience the warmth of the people, warmth of the sunshine and the warmth in your heart will be with you forever!
