The Trip Home

Arriving in southern Canada was a glorious experience as we travelled through Penticton and south to the wine country of Canada. Osoyoos (pronounced o-soy-oose) is a beautiful area situated in a fertile valley known as the prime wine country of Canada. This was one of the most beautiful areas of Canada that we visited. The Okanagan valley with miles and miles of hillside vineyards overlooking gorgous lake Okanagan, and lake Osoyoos is an incredible sight.

We visited several wineries, our favorite was the Burrowing Owl. We went there to celebrate Alan's birthday. We had a delicious lunch on the deck overlooking the valley. Driving to the top of Hiway 3 and stopping at the summit of the pass gave us a new and different look at the entire valley which
can be seen from there. What a beautiful place.

We were reluctantly departing the next day and heading south into Idaho. From there we headed east, it felt good to be back in the "lower 48".

The Burrowing Owl Winery
This is one of the most beautiful wineries we have visited in this area as well as northern California. It is classic with the gourmet restaurant overlooking the vineyards and the valley.
