Multiple entry visas is also offered to US passport holders for 10 years validity, but this is not guaranteed. It is up to the discretion of the Chinese Consulate as what validity of the visa will be given to the individual. There are certain formalities that need to be completed for obtaining a valid business China visa. Read on to know about them in details so that there are no hassles in getting the visa:

• The actual passport along with a photocopy of the name page

The actual passport needs to be submitted as the visa stamp will be affixed on the same. For business visa, the passport should have a validity of minimum 12 months. In case it has lesser validity, it is recommended to get the passport renewed and then apply for the visa. There should be minimum 2 blank pages in the passport, where the visa stamps can be affixed. In case you have a valid Chinese visa in another passport, that passport has to be submitted in original along with this passport, while applying for the new visa.

• Rightly filled in visa application form for each individual

Hand-written China visa application form is not acceptable. One has to fill out the application form online and then take a print out of the same. The signature has to be done after the printout is taken. It is mandatory to fill all the fields. Write N/A or None in places which are not applicable. Incomplete forms are rejected. Check for errors thoroughly before getting the print of the application form. Single sided pages of the application should be printed – back to back printing will not do.

• Recent passport size photograph

The dimensions of the photograph are important to keep in mind. It should be 33mm (wide) and 48mm (tall). The photo should be frontal with view of full face. The photo should be in white or off-white background. The quality of the photo should be good. It should not be older than 6 months. Do not glue or staple the photo to the application form. Use a paper clip for attaching the photo.

• Invitation letter from China – one of the most important documents needed for business visa

There are two kinds of invitation letters that are accepted:

• Formal invitation letter, which is issued by an institution or a company in mainland China
• Invitation letter of duly authorized unit, which is issued by the Chinese Government

Whatever be the source of the invitation letter, it should contain certain details including:

• Details of personal information of the applicant like name, passport number, date of birth, job title and the full name of the company where the individual works in USA
• Cities and places the applicant intends to visit
• Main purpose of visit
• Exact dates of arrival and departure
• Relationship between the US company and the Chinese company
• Person who will be responsible for bearing the expenses of applicant’s accommodation while in China
• Inviter’s signature and company’s official seal
• China inviting person’s details like full name, detailed company address, job title, phone number and fax of the inviter

The invitation letter should be printed on official letterhead and should have the official seal of the Chinese company or institution. Words like ‘internship’, ‘training’ or ‘working’ should be avoided in the letter.

• Submitting online Visa Service Request Form

This is a way of informing that a visa application is being sent to the embassy. Status and confirmation of the visa can be sent to the applicant via email with this facility. Two copies of the confirmation page should be printed. One copy should be sent with the visa application form and other documents in the envelope and other can be kept with the candidate for records.

• Payment for visa processing

A visa processing fee is required for business Chinese visa from USA. Regular as well as express services are available for visas. It is obvious that the rates of express services are higher than that of regular services.

With all such arrangements in place, there should be no problem in getting a valid business Chinese visa for US passport holders.
