One of the most scenic drive in North America. FYI: To read more about this vacation, activities to do, places to visit, to learn about different flowers and animals in these parks and also to see lots of wonderful pictures, please visit http://yellowstonevacation.wordpress.com This spring I and my wife decided to go on a vacation which we will be remembering for a long long time and the first place that came to our mind was
Yellowstone National Park. At that time, we had just seen some phtos, read some articles about Yellowstone but had never visited it. So as we started planning the trip, the scope changed from just a 3 day trip to a 10 day long vacation covering 3 of the best National parks in USA namely Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier National park.
Departing from St Louis on a hot summer day in July , we first flew to Billings Montana. We rented a car and drove through one the most scenic drive in North America,
"Beartooth Highway". I recommend everybody to drive this stretch at least once. It was just an out of this world experience. We reached north east entrance Yellowstone late in the evening and drove directly to Grant Village where we

Next day , we covered the famous geysers of Yellowstone including 'Oldfaithful'. It was simply wonderful. At the end of the day, we retired back to Flagg Ranch resort just outside south entrance of Yellowstone.
Next day , we drove south to
Grand Tetons. Teton range is truely majestic, and offers you some of the most splendid views. It requires at least one full day to cover Grand Teton national park.
On , starting early in the morning we drove north from Flagg Ranch resort to the Canyon area of Yellowstone. On the way we stoped at natural bridge area, Fishing bridge. Canyon area consists of 2two drives. The north rim drive and South rim drive which also includes the most photographed place in YNP: Artist point. Also attend the ranger led program in South rim, which is very educative. At the end of the day, we stayed at the Pioneer Cabins in Canyon Area.
Next day we started early in the morning (5 am) to
Lamar valley to see the wildlife. Early in the morning is the best time to catch a

Next day we embarked on a long drive to Glacial National Park. It is about 450 miles to the west gate of the national park but the drive is worth the penny. We reached hungry horse (8 miles from west entrance) at 4:30 pm. Immediately we went to see the hungry horse dam. It is a very scenic place and worth visiting.
Next day , we visited the Glacier National Park. The main attraction of the park is the Rising to Sun Road arguably one of the most scenic place. Stop at the numerous points along the drive. Hiking is also a good option. Visitor center has information on the numerous hiking trails suiting to your taste. One of the highlights of the drive is "Logan Pass", the heighest point in the drive. There is also a popular hiking trail starting at this point. Also the wild flower valley takes you to a totally different world.
Artist Point: Yellowstone National Park
One of the most photographed place in YNP. On our second day in Glacier National Park, we visited the Many Galcier park area. The access to this area is from the east side of the park. If you have time this is also woth visiting. The highlight is the Many Glacier lodge. This offers a very scenic view of the lake behing the lodge as well as a well maintained hiking trail.
Next day we drove back from Hungry horse to Billings on our way to St Louis , still thinking about the most memorable journey of our life time.
