Mont's new horseMont's new horseMont's new horse

We go to Gottsche's Wellness Center three times a week. It keeps Mont from getting another new knee, he says
Heading South.
Left the house at Thermopolis Wyoming at 5:30 AM--dark thirty. I walked Tass in the State Park while Mont did his 20 minute routine at the Gottsche Wellness Center. Deer bounding all over the place. Around 32 degrees with no wind. How's that for typical Wyoming winter weather..
As soon as we left the Wind River Canyon, the wind hit. Bad . It made the dog and us hurry back to the truck at the Hyland Rest Area.
Had to stop in Casper to pick up a camshaft position sensor at the International Truck dealership--$95 as compared to $153 or $189 at home. Simply insurance against another deadstop breakdown in our '99 Ford diesel such as we had in Kansas in 2004. We bought the 10 mm ratchet wrench last week that we would need if it DID happen--$13. It's in the jockey box as we speak.
TERRIBLE wind as we left Douglas. Sign warned of 70 mph gusts but only one semi-trailer was tipped over by Wheatland so it must have died down some.
Diesel is $2.339 at Casper and
Cheyenne. Truck is making 16+ mpg.
As soon as we crossed the Colorado line, the wind stopped, sun came out and it was beautiful. It is true. The state line is a windbreak. Go figure.
We were in the Hallmark parking lot, Brighton Colorado, by 3 PM. Now we wait til morning to get our frig and water pump adjusted on our popup camper that we bought there in 2002.
Stew, leftover from yesterday, for
supper in the camper. In bed by dark. Miles to go before Panama but this is a start!!
