The US Army and the Sioux/Cheyenne had their last big battle with the Indians trying to preserve their land and way of life. The solders were out numbered big time and Custered made his “Last Stand.” Most of the solders were buried right where they fell. Custer, and many of the officers were later transferred to the cemetery at West Point. There was also a memorial for the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians that was very well done.

I had the pleasure of being here on the Friday of Memorial Day. There is the Custer National Cemeter where they have soldiers and Indian Scouts from the 1800’s to today. They even had a Medal of Honor recipient buried here. Being Memorial Day Weekend, they had flags on every gravestone. Very moving to be there and see this.
