Today is, June 1 2006. After a couple of weeks in the canyon country of Utah, we've moved up to the high mountain country of Northwestern Wyoming. Right now we're at a commercial campground in West Yellowstone, MT after spending a week in the Tetons and Yellowstone. Everthing is green and wet up here with tons of water in rivers, creeks, and snow compared to dry and red in the canyon country. We haven't had any problems with the camper and we're getting pretty good at the dry camping routine. Being self contained with water and propane and being able to build campfires, we just finished a 7 day stretch in the woods. No news, phones, TV and didn't miss it. The elk and bison are losing their winter coats so they're kind of scruffy looking. The bull Elk have lost their antlers but most are regrowing now and they're covered with what they call and looks like velvet. With the warm weather of the last couple of days (70 day 30 nite) the mosquitos are out BIG TIME! Aztec Butte in Canyonlands NP
I don't know why they call it "Aztec"...Pueblo indians built these graneries probably a 1000 years ago try. Tomorrow we head up to Missoula, MT then on to Glacier Nat'l Park for 8 days, then back to the east side of Yellowstone for another week, meeting up with Beckie and Gary.
