Friday, August 24, 11:15 am, Burgess Junction, WY. We score Moose! And not just one, not just two, but 3 Moose at once. Granted they were 300 yards away, but there they were. Now we're after up-close Moose.

As this is a quick blog-in-route to the Little Bighorn, I'll be brief. We also went to the Medicine Wheel at 9800', which was very cool except for a couple things that I'll mention another time. While there we saw Pikas, small rodent-things that look like guinea pigs with huge ears. Another first. Then, while hiking off-trail in the Bighorn Mountains, we saw a black bear. Not a big deal for us but it was very unusual in this area, so we were told. So we're having a great wildlife-viewing trip. And for Karen Anderson, as a non-participating member of the bird club, I'd like to report that I've seen Mountain Bluebirds, Mountain Chickadees, and White Pelicans! among other new birds. I know you're proud.

Gotta go. Keep those cards and letters coming. Sorry about the heat, folks. We had on fleece night before last, if that makes you feel better!

I've got more to say and pics to send on the next blog. Ditto to the above comments.

Moose Totem Works!
Glad you saw your moose; we want credit for the sighting. (Warning: do not overuse the power of the moose totem; you may unleash forces beyond your comprehension!)

Feelin the heat
Sounds really cool, moose are really big mothers aren't they? Sounds like the long lost relatives of Miss Piggy and Freckles are keeping you company. The pigs (guinea) are in fine form and send their regards. Pepper however, is still wondering what he did to land him in jail. He has to be crated inside for 4 weeks (Dave is SOOO excited). He just gets to go out to do business and then limps pitifully back into his crate. His back leg has an incision about 7 inches long but is healing well. He'll just have to cut back on the tennis and golf game. We just came back from the annual family camp with church, 60 folks, lots of bicycles, heat, sweat, and boats. Emma and Andy are becoming quite the waterskiing champs , although with all the sun we are coming back a bit crispy around the edges. Two cars are malfunctioning, Andys locked up on me in Kingston and had to be towed back to our house in Ktown. The vingo van has a hic-cupping engine currently. Oh well, another day, another crisis. Have a great time with the mooses. Vingo
