Nick & Hector on the "Bath Tub's" maiden voyage The summer is flying by faster than we want it to! Some highlights from the past few weeks:
-Spending a weekend at our cabin in Beaver Dam with family
-Driving through some of the most beautiful countryside in the Midwest
-Juicy Lucy's and Bacon Explosion
-Finally getting to ride on a Jet Ski at the age of 27. (Scarier that I anticipated, but that could have had something to do with the driver...)
-Seeing Sam's band perform at Summerfest...Hey Rog!
-Grilled corn on the cob, dunked in butter, sprinkled with salt
-B. B. King at Summerfest. He still rocks at 85 years old!
-Visiting the ever gracious hosts, Abbey & Wes in Spring Green
-Bon fires & Fatty Boomblatty
-Smores
-Cheese factories
-Anything grilled by Nick & Wes
-A ride on the golf cart around "Hidden Valley" and "Used To Be Trail" (Thanks Pam!)
-Parades & Fireworks (nobody does the 4th like Wisconsinites)
-Rythm & Booms in Madison with the Army's skydiving team drifting down over our heads
-New Glarus in Daddy's back yard!
-Getting to spend more time with my family than I

Ah, Summertime in Wisconsin...
We feel so blessed to be able to spend these weeks with our family & friends before we depart the United States. It still feels surreal that we will be moving overseas in roughly four weeks. I am sure as we start sorting clothes, stocking up on supplies, and begin the packing process the reality of it will set in. We are loading our computer up with movies and our Kindle with books for the long flight over to Chisinau. (I flew to Paris with none of these gadgets 15 years ago...what ever did I do with myself?)
We have been advised to pack our favorite spices, toiletries, etc. until we can figure out Russian lables at grocery and drug stores. Any other advice from anyone who has traveled overseas?
We are thoroughly enjoying every minute with our friends and family here in Wisconsin...time to go make the bean salad for the Lutheran potluck dinner tonight!
