Geo: 37.9722, -81.1489We stayed in the "quiet" campground, as opposed to the "festive" campground. Quiet hours were not observed by several folks and we did not get a good night sleep either night. One morning there were Boy Scouts up at 4:30am, 90 minutes before the end of quiet time, running around banging on doors and using their outdoor voices. We would have given them demerit badges for disturbing the peace, but couldn't think of a good way to curb their antisocial behavior without creating a scene.The staff at River Expeditions was genial, but quality food preparation is not their strong suit. Geo: 37.9722, -81.1489We drove out from Richmond the night before our rafting trip so we'd be good and rested for our adventure. The campground was pretty crowded, but the facilities were good. I'm not sure why the camp areas needed to be so close together given that land can't be that expensive there.It was raining when we arrived. The forecast indicated that it would probably get worse rather than better, so we put up the tent in the rain: never fun. The kids stayed dry in the car. Luckily, we had already decided to eat out for the evening, so we did not need to cook in the rain.
