Bierstadt
Look at me - I am the shit! Here we are the end of week three and still in Bellingham. The good news is that the camera will be arriving tomorrow and we will be getting the hell out of dodge. It has been nice in Bellingham but we are ready to move on. We spent the first 5 nights in a great campground at the Larabee State Park. It was right by the beach, had rv hook ups and showers. Yep, we showered. 2 showers in 2 weeks. Not too bad 😊 Since the campground was pre-reserved for the weekend we had to leave and thats how we ended up in the Wal-Mart parking lot. They allow you to stay there overnight for free which is nice. The first couple of days were funny - were in the Wal-Mart parking lot. But now, not so funny. Harvey gets so much attention, too. People are constantly stopping and asking questions and telling us how cute, neat, tight and adoreable he is. I feel like I am part of a circus. I should be wearing a pink wig and a tutu. The first day we stayed in the parking lot we didn't leave. We played scrabble, read books, took Bierstadt

Hanging out before the movie starts, Must Love Dogs. Very cute. on numerous walks around the lot and went inside the store to use the restroom when needed. That was interesting. Someone should write a book on "those" who shop at Wal-Mart. Quite some interesting folks. Some nice and not so nice. We woke the first morning to two guys cussing each other out. What it was all about we have no idea and last night I went in to use the restroom and two guys were getting ready to fight. This is suppose to be a small town with a small town feel, but not here at Wal-Mart. It is definitely time to leave. I do have to say, we are not the only ones that sleep at Wal-Mart. One night I counted 24 RVs. It is funny because most roll in at night and leave in the morning. There are a few that stay a couple days like us. We did take a trip up to Vancouver, Canada. I had been there a couple times but Bret had not so it was all new for him. We also went down to Seattle. We went to the REI store which is always a good time. It is huge and they

It was a bummer since it was past five and everything was pretty much closed. We walked around a bit and then headed back to the Wal-Mart parking lot 😞 We haven't done a whole lot while we have been here. We both have read two books (I finished Harry Potter. It was sad 😞 ), played lots of scrabble and boggle (which is fun. Bret always kicks my ass at both) and we have met some very intersting people who stop to look at Harvey. We had one lady invite us to come stay on her property where we could have electricity. (something the parking lot doesn't provide) We didn't take her up on her offer. Kind a creepy, but thoughtful. It has definitely been quite an experience. Bierstadt has enjoyed it, too. He has spent alot more time with us than he normally would had we been out hiking and biking. To answer your question Cathy, when we are gone he stays either in Harvey in his

This a pic of our lovely home. It did have a couple trees and some bushes. What else could you ask for? kennel or in the truck in his kennel. It all depends on the weather and how long we will be gone. He did have a very exciting day today. He went to Petsmart and got a bath. He is so handsome with his green bandana around his neck that they put on him. He smells much better, too. It is amazing how many people compliment him and tell us what a good looking pug he is. Of course, we know that, but he really does get alot of compliments.
We forgot to mention in our last blog that we met Michael Jackson. He was with 2 young boys, but it is not what you think. They were his sons. We were in the Cascades at the visitors center and we started talking to this guy. He told us that he lived in Bellingham and we mentioned that we would be passing through. He gave us his business card to call him to go mountain biking and no joke, on his business card was the name Michael Jackson. We laughed and thought it was pretty funny. Wouldn't you change your name to Mike or something else? After all, the name Micheal Jackson doesn't hold a positive image. It turns out that this Micheal Jackson is a hard core back country skier and avalanche instructor.
So that is week 3 and more. We are leaving for Idaho tomorrow for some rock climbing and then back to WA to go to Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helens and then we are heading down the Oregon coast. We hope you all our enjoying the blogs and thanks for the comments. We really enjoy reading them.
