Day 175 (Sunday 11/10/09, NJJ)
Metro in to DC on what turned out to be National Coming Out Day. Off to see Jackson statue, Pennsylvania Ave, and property number 1600, the Treasury building, Sherman Statue, front of White House with completed 'gazebo', Pulaski statue, Old Post Office Tower, Petersen House (where Lincoln died), Ford's Theatre (where Lincoln was shot), J Edgar Hoover FBI Building, passed National Archives (closed), to Grant Memorial, Capitol Building, US Supreme Court. Lunch at Subway. Walked to Union Station. Metro to Smithsonian for sights nearby - many of those seen before but also went to National Holocaust Museum which made me very emotional, it was very well-presented and moving. Food then hotel in evening.
