honestly, I came away from that visit with a different view of him, and it wasn't in a positive light at all. He and his wife treated their laborers inhumanely: they owned human beings like property and treated them like animals. Our founding father owned slaves, and that makes me sick to my stomach. We can never, ever turn our backs on this kind of history.
