Texas (I love Texas!) It was a very long drive to Texas and we could feel the weather getting a little warmer. There isn’t much to look at on the road, only here and there we would pass a forgotten little town where the houses are slowly withering away, rusty cars stand abandoned and grass is slowly consuming the remains..a very sad sight and one can’t help but wonder what story each house could tell. We packed our breakfast and lunch snacks and could eat on the road without stopping for too long. We found a smart Texan Service welcome centre where we could sit and enjoy our lunch. Today was a connector day. We needed to connect two 50 mile days but this day had only 16 miles. Since we were going a short distance and didn't want to get there to early we took off around 10:00. The hills of Texas are getting more and more pronounced. When we made it to town we found a small diner for lunch. This place had plenty of pictures of road kill alligators and rattle snakes on the wall. Makes you keep a close eye out for critters. As we were heading to the motel right next door is a bakery.
