We arrived in San Antonio and went directly to The Alamo. We learned a lot about the History of Texas. It’s small but the exhibits were really well displayed. After spending a couple of hours, we walked to the Riverwalk. Had an Italian lunch right next to the water and then took a boat ride around the Riverwalk. We made it to our room in the late afternoon and were able to relax for a little bit. We had a balconly over looking a garden. Em noticed and heard a peacock that was roaming around the garden trying to impress a female. He was flapping his feathers but to not avail. 🙁🙁
We eat dinner in the Concierge Lounge with the hors d’oeuvres and desserts. What a meal. The San Antonio Fiesta started with a Street Fair right outside our hotel. Another wonderful full day!
This trip has been a dream of mine for many years. I have always wanted to take a trip around the United States after my retirement from teaching. It is hard to believe it is finally here. I will be starting an approximately 7 week driving trip, spending most of my time in the south and on the east coast. Emily will be able to join me for the first week plus and then she will have to return to work. The trip after Texas is designed to be very fluid. I have mapped out the destinations with approximate dates. If I find that I need more time at a particular location, I will stay longer.
