I realize that it’s been a long time since my last post. I thank those of you that have inquired as to my whereabouts. The year started with friends and a limo ride to see the production of “Mama Mia” at the Lutcher Theater in Orange. Very nice on such a winter day. I have been all over the Houston and my area for friend and occasion events including the Big Band sounds of the Remember When Orchestra featuring Britt Godwin, and the Mid Eastern party and feast featuring Shaharazad and the Habibi Belly Dance Troupe, both at MacKenzie’s Pub in Beaumont. This is catch up time for some of you that have asked. I worked all of 2010 but did manage to sneak in a lot of fun with friends. My photography skills leave a lot to be desired and then there's the factor of 'who has time to take pictures?'. My son taunted me in June that he was attending the County Music Awards Festival in Nashville to see REBA. He actually 'NA NA NA' 'ed me!! Not to be baited, I flew there the next afternoon, took over his hotel room and festival ticket and saw REBA!!!! It was worth every penny of the air fare! We left Mobile, AL yesterday morning early. After walking the dogs and having something to eat, we were on the road by 8:30. That may not seem very early to alot of people (especially us!), but to actually be underway at that time is great. We've been on the road around 9 - 10 other mornings.....lots to do in the mornings! I am actually taking my time this morning to write in this blog...and it's only 6:15am. Yesterday's drive seemed very long to me. Louisianna is a very long state....so is Texas. We've got a 2 day drive to the border from here and now we see a tropical storm is brewing in the Gulf heading straight for Brownsville. Damn.
