I thought today was going to be relatively easy but Texas is still bigger than it seems. But, alas, this should be the end of it because Mexico is just a stone's throw away at this point.
You never know what you're going to get yourself into when you check into a campground these days. The staff is cheerful, helpful, and very friendly. The restrooms and showers are clean. There's a rec hall, shuffleboard, a pool, and this computer. It's not exactly a sweet deal, though. The tenting area is essentially an open field behind a trailer park that is populated by an odd hodge podge of RV's, travel trailers, and mobile homes. I'll hazard a guess that 1/4 of them haven't been mobile for years and won't be going anywhere soon. As it happens, my campsite is hidden away behind an unsightly double-wide mobile home that appears to have been inhabited by a frantic hoarder that passed away seven months ago. It's an odd spot but I'll take it. We tent people understands that we is the dregs of humanity and that we don't deserve better. I don't like better. For this I came... Miles traveled: 1786
I shall be crossing the border into Mexico tomorrow. Wish me luck!
