We made it to Dallas after a 380 mile journey against some amazing side winds; it hardly let up at all. Traveling across the Country in May has some distinct advantages when it comes to small crowds at the National Parks, availability in the RV parks, and for the most part the days are cool. However, the winds in May out west are tough...at least they were for me! We probably wrote this already, but there isn't much to see in terms of landscapes from Amarillo to Dallas, but the speed limits are high and the roads fairly good so we made great time in the Camp Boss. Our park, Shady Creek RV and Storage is located in Aubrey Tx and is one of the cleanest and best maintained parks we stayed in on the trip. I can't say enough good things about the facility, the pool was nice, bathrooms clean and the management are good folks. All that said, I could only get spanish speaking TV and there was no internet so our blog is a little behind schedule. On Tuesday we visited the lovely home of our dear friends Randy and Diane Rogers; they were great hosts and treated

Me! 50 yard line. us to wonderful a lunch and dinner. After dinner we all went over to the Clubhouse in their resort neighborhood and swam around in the pool and finished the evening in the hot tub. It sure felt great the warm our road weary bones and enjoy friendly conversation w/ our friends and one of their neighbors.
On Wednesday, we got up early to head out to Cowboys Stadium! I was a little worried about rush hour traffic so we left at 0830 for our 1030 tour. Randy told me it wouldn't take more than an hour to get there and of course he was right. So we were really early and had the opportunity to donate some cash to Jerry Jones, via the well stocked Pro Shop. Oh well, I suppose JJ needs to make payments on the stadium so we made one for him ;-) They did a great tour and WOW what an amazing building!!! They designed it so there are no obstructed views in any of the 100,000 comfortable well-padded seats. It was really a great thrill for me getting this tour!
As for getting to the stadium, now that's another story. We counted on
our trusty GPS and of course it set up the best route. First to the Dallas North South Toll Way, what a fantastic road!!! Well the first thing we see when getting on the toll way is a really big sign stating the toll is $1.49, now who on earth would set a toll for a $1.49, so we dug around for exact change and looked for the toll booth, then another sigh w/ $1.29, and another, and another etc. but no toll booth. Next the GPS send us to President George W. Bush Parkway which of course is another no cash toll road; or as they call it a ZIP Cash only road. I'm sure we've had our photo taken along the route a few dozen times as we buzz through the control gates w/o ZIP cash. I'm sure you can guess how we got back to the RV, yup via the ZiP cash line again. Good thing we left Texas the next day because I'm sure our picture is posted on the most-wanted board for all the violations we had. None of it was intentional, who knew what a damn ZIP cash was...I thought it was a fast

SIde Screen toll booth ;-)
We made it back to the RV packed, dumped tanks etc and went to bed early...however not for long...early evening the storms hit, w/ high winds, hard rain and lightning. All we had was radio and they were warning of large hail and possible tornados. I still fell right to sleep, but Mi Hyon stayed up to worry the storm away. Thanks to our special friend Father Bob's prayers the bad stuff missed us by a couple of miles and all we got was a little rocking of the rig in the winds.
After a good night's sleep for Mike and none for Mi Hyon, we headed out for Oklahoma to see Dad and Karen.
